A RELAXING WALK IN BARRI GOTHIC

The first thing you have to do while in Barcelone is visit Barri Gotic. Barri Gotic is the oldest quarter of the city. The alleys of the quarter are tight and winding, but that is their charm. Important monuments such as the Cathedral and the medieval palace tell the tourist the history of the century.

LA RIBERA AND EL BORN

If you liked the Gothic quarter , you will definetly love the neighbour quarter. La Ribera has been, si nce the Middle Ages, a residential quarter . You will find here the Picasso Museum, which might not host the most impressive art collections in the world, but it surely hosts some of the most representative ones. The Gothic Palaces Berenguer de Aguilar and Baron de Catellet also host a few art galleries. El Born is also known as the fashion maze. The fashion shops are numerous, but so are the tapas restaurants that attract tourists.

LA RAMBLA

The La Rambla part of the city is very animated. You need a lot of time and energy to explore it from one side to the other. You will find here an interesting combination of styles in architecture, but a very inspired one. Visit here the Contemporary Art Museum, the Palau de la Virreina, built in a Baroque and Rococo style, the Santa Monica Monastery and the Reial Plaza.

THE PORT

Barcelona is a city that has a beautiful exit to the sea. The port is one of the most visited areas of the city. You’ ll find here the biggest medieval naval shipyard in the world, the Maritim Museum and the History of Catalunya Museum. Between the main port and the Vila Olimpica lies the Barceloneta, a network of streets that represented, in the 18th century. This is the quarter where sailors used to spend their free time. This part of the city is also the place where you will find the IMAX Theatre; a popular attraction, especially among young tourists. Enjoy your stay ! Barcelona is really worth visiting!
